This slot machine cake took a lot of pre planning because I had to make all the decorations out of sugarpaste (before I baked and iced the cake) and size them to an 8' square cake. Because it takes a few days for these sugarpaste decorations to dry, I would not have had the time to dry the decorations if I had iced the cake first. Contoured cake pan featuring a large slot machine. Crafted of quality aluminum for even heat distribution & long-lasting durability. Realistic detailing is instantly recognizable.perfect for any party. This large pan uses one 2-layer cake mix. This slot machine cake was for my dads birthday. Now that he lives in Florida one of his favorite things to do while visiting me in NJ is go to Atlantic City and play the slots so I knew he would just love this cake! The base tier is a cake dummy that was covered in gray fondant. Homepage › Forums › Cake Decorating Questions › Sculpting slot machine cake Creator Topic February 19, 2012 at 6:55 pm.

The base tier is a cake dummy that was covered in gray fondant. The “payout plaque” was made from white fondant with a brown sugar border, and symbols were all hand painted. The pull lever is made from a wooden dowel that was covered in fondant. The top tier is a chocolate cake with cream cheese buttercream, covered in gray fondant. All of the details were molded out of fondant, except the quarters. I created a silicone mold out of quarters from different states (I picked states that are important to my dad) and then used the mold to make chocolate coins which I dusted with luster dust to give them shine.
