Sitting in the bar area, I ordered the “David Blackmore’s Full Blood Wagyu Hamburger with Bacon, Gruyere Cheese and Zuni Pickle”. I was excited as I waited for the meal. Presentation and size of the burger was good, but that’s about where it ended. This was not a good burger at all. The meat was bland. The bun was buttery and like rubber. It generally lacked taste and was very disappointing.
The side of chips were just thick roasted potatoes, and consistent with the burger, lacked flavour too. Waaaaaay too over priced at $24 just for the burger, and another $12 for the chips. That’s right – $12 chips!
If you want a good burger at Crown, stick to The Merrywell!
