If you want to measure the performance of your ad unit, it is best to specify a slot id for the shortcode. You can specify a common slot for all of your shortcodes using the Adsense Widget settings page. You should see an option in the “Ad Parameters” that allows you to add your AdSense code. If you connect to your AdSense account under Advanced Ads Settings AdSense then the list of ads will also be imported and show up there. Please let me know if you need anything else. Edit the Publisher ID and Ad Slot. Add the code to your site, save and visit to see the changes.
Perhaps an example will help. This is from one of my sites.
First, the 'Top' insertion template, which is a 728x90 banner, which appears at the top of the content:
Note: the Google-provided ad unit JavaScript code is wrapped in a variety of HTML DIVs which allow us to style the content. I won't include the CSS files here, since that's specific to my site's theme. You can use inline if you like (as is done in the following example.)
Next, the 'Inline' insertion template, which is a 336x280 block ad, floated right.
Note:You must use your publisher id (instead of google_ad_client = 'ca-pub-1234567890123456';) and ad slot id (instead of google_ad_slot = '1234567890';) as provided by Google AdSense, or you won't get the results you expect!
So, if you can't, or don't want to, use the AdSense module's [adsense:xxx] tags you must use the JavaScript ad unit code provided by Google's AdSense interface. (The AdSense module is available for Drupal 7, so you can use the [adsense:xxx] tags if you prefer, even though the AdSense module is no longer required to use Content/AdSense Injector*.)

Google Adsense client ID or Adsense Publisher ID, which is unique to each Adsense publisher.
To find your unique AdSense publisher ID number, log into your AdSense account. On the Account settings tab, scroll down to the Account information section. Your publisher ID for each AdSense product and feature will be located in this section.
Alternatively, you can find your publisher ID number within your AdSense code. Just locate the AdSense code in the HTML source code of your website, and you’ll spot your publisher ID in a line like the one shown below:

- The next, click the “Account Information” to get your Data Client ID.
How to get Data Slot ID
- Log into your Google AdSense account
- Click on “My ads”
- You can found this number into column ID now copy this Data Slot ID
